Mr Andrew Keen, a successful English digital media entrepreneur who more recently has taken to writing and lecturing on issues relating to the Internet, culture and the media. He is the author of “The Cult of the Amateur” - a very provocative read. His argument is that the content on the internet largely is done by amateurs, which he regards as a threat to “our culture and our values” and which might destroy “the institutions of the past”. He argues that millions of amateur contributors are responsible for unregulated, poor and biased quality of internet content and are therefore undermining the work of professionals. If I look at the information I receive on a daily base, I must say, he is mostly right.
